I'm not saying it's right or wrong, but it's so odd to see everyone wearing gym shoes with jeans. Everywhere I look, people are wearing athletic trainers. In Europe, you rarely see gym shoes outside of the gym. And even then, some wear more casual sneakers in the fitness clubs - such as Pumas for example.
