Pink Trash Travels 2: The Help
Few movies move me. In fact, I find most films average. I suppose I should take some of the blame as I make bad choices. But today's viewing of The Help really elicited an emotional response.
It's hard to imagine that just 50 years ago human beings treated others with such disrespect and cruelty. Then again, we still see it today with the LBGT community. Sure, it's not quite 100% comparable, but there are strong similarities. All of which makes me wonder how gays and lesbians will be treated 50 years from now. I have to believe the same path to acceptance will apply (understanding African Americans still have struggles today).
Why we can't just all get along - being nice and treating others with kindness and respect? An interesting observation on a day like today.
