Astra Hotel: First Impression

We've realized unless we book a hotel through Tablet Hotels, we're usually a bit disappointed (unless it's a Four Seasons of course). So understandably, we were a bit anxious to arrive to the Astra Apartments & Suites. Our first impression was good in that the hotel has an amazing view and helpful staff. However, once we spotted the pool we were a bit underwhelmed. It's too small with not enough lounge chairs. And when we heard the annoying (and yes straight) Americans discussing their drunk night out, we were slightly annoyed. Combine that with our somewhat small room with no closet space, we weren't so happy to be staying at the Astra.

But now that we've spent a few hours relaxing by the pool (where we heard that the frat boys and their super chick are leaving tomorrow), and we've settled down in our apartment (me with the internet), Chris and I decided everything will be okay. Besides that, it's not as though we have plans to lounge around the hotel all weekend. We've got walks to town, hikes to volcanoes, drives to "black beaches" and sunset boat rides to keep us busy until Monday when we return to Munich.

And did I mention the amazing view?
