Explaining Isolationism

When I first read the headline, "Isolation Soars Among Americans," I thought the article might explain why I've "cocooned" myself since moving into our new home. Instead, the piece explains how the United States feels, now more than ever, that we should mind our own business in regards to foreign affairs. So I still don't know why I've opted to become less social now that we've settled into Lakewood. It should be the reverse!
