Touring Mykonos
Some have a hard time understanding why we don't want to spend more time at the beach - especially when they haven't seen the pool at our hotel. But when Theoxenia's watering hole is this gorgeous, why would we want to risk our lives driving in a clown car down winding roads only to end up at a sandy beach?
Because we're repeat guests, the hotel manager upgrades us every year to a Deluxe Sea View. So, from our balcony, we get to enjoy a beautiful sunset across the Aegean Sea.
Cats run amuck on the island of Mykonos. And as a guest, you're told not to feed the cute little buggers. But it's hard to say "NO" to these felines when they're so cute. Take "Oxi" ("No" in Greek and pronounced "Ohee" ) for example. His permanently placed smile and friendly demeanor are hard to resist. So, while in Mykonos, we've adopted the furry critter. We've thought about bringing him back to Chicago (after a thorough check-up of course). But because I'm afraid of how Dennis would react, and Oxi would treat our furniture, we're leaving our new found buddy on the island. I only hope he can fend for himself through the long winter (as we understand the island nearly shuts down for five months). Perhaps we can contribute to an "Oxi Fund" to ensure he's fed until next summer.
