Catch Phrase Isn't So Catchy

We've played the newer electronic version of Catch Phrase twice this weekend. This updated model number features a digital "hot potato" device vs. the classic game with a paper disk you insert into a plastic cartridge. However, one downside to the enhanced game are phrases that don't seem to make much sense.

For example, have you ever heard of "Finger in the pie?" No, we hadn't either. It was as though Catch Phrase was just grabbing random words and inserting "HERE." Tonight, for game night #3, we're finally going to play Pictionary Man - the game features on PTT's 2010 Advent Calendar. I'm sure something scary will happen to the poor little plastic man.
