A Change is Coming

As many of you know, I started a new job with Translation a few weeks back (July 20th actually). After much thought over vacation, as well as discussions with Chris, I resigned last Tuesday.

I had full intentions of continuing my employment with the brand marketing agency upon my return from Cairo and Mykonos. However, after meeting with my boss, discussing my thoughts as well as his, I realized my role as Senior Account Director wasn't a good fit for not only my strengths but passions as well. So we decided to keep me onboard until a replacement can be named (which hopefully won't be more than 2-3 weeks).

As I look back on my decision to join Translation, as well as the past 7 weeks, I wouldn't change a thing. The job opened my eyes to much including my desire to no longer work on a permanent basis in an agency or marketing corporation again. Rather, I'll go back to freelance opportunities (already having picked-up a gig with Best Buy and Wrigley) as well as pursue a path I've discussed for years. So, a plan is in place.

Here's to (1) recognizing your happiness and mental health as life is too short to postpone as well as (2) having a significant other who supports all of your crazy decisions and adventures.
