Happy Schnapszahl!

Because today is 8/8/08, Deutschland is celebrating Schnapszahl. It's a German word for palindrome, specifically referring to numeric palindromes where one number is repeated. But that's not all Schnapszahl refers to in Germany. A specific sub-culture identifies a Schnapszahl as a submissive person who enjoys being used by individuals of either sex (regardless of their own personal sexuality).

We'll be celebrating (the repetition of 8s not the sexual abuse) tonight at Filippos and Eric's at 8:00 (another 8 added in for fun). It's a casual buffet. I asked if I could wear shorts. Apparently that's too casual. Not that I would - especially now that it's only 60 degrees outside. But I thought it would be fun to ask Eric and see his response.
