The Housing Report

Heck, do I feel like posting? Not really as I just returned from a three hour meeting downtown for our permit. Fortunately, I bumped into my friend Tom who gave me a ride. Otherwise, I would have had to take public transportation downtown in addition to my return.

As for the permit, our construction drawings are now with the city. A panel of experts will review and get back to us with any additional questions. If they have some, our architect must meet with them to address their concerns. If not, then Ernest, our project manager, will call me with the good news. But even then, I need to ensure we provide documentation that answers his questions - as he has six. They aren't bad, but they do exist.

So now we wait. It could take up to four weeks for the process to be completed. But again, since the economy is in the crapper, the City Hall's work load isn't too heavy. As Ernest said on my way out the door, "You're lucky." I guess we'll see.
