The Debate Goes On...
Thomas Roberts speaks to both sides of the DOMA debate. What dumbfounds me is that when Roberts asks if marriage is tied to religion, Peter Sprigg says no and that it's for reproduction purposes. Roberts rightly then questions if couples who never reproduce should be allowed to marry. Of course, Sprigg has little to say in response other than there's always the "possibility" of the married couple having children.
With Sprigg's rationale, an elderly couple in their 70s then shouldn't be allowed to marry. Afterall, I don't think sperm from a 75 year old man can swim that fast - if at all. Once again, it just goes to show the logic behind defending DOMA is flawed at best.
