Snap, Crackle, Pop!
Because of the sharp, shooting pain down my neck, shoulder and right arm, I decided to visit a chiropractor today for the first time - ever. In short, I learned a lot. I can barely remember half of what he said but I do recall him saying my spine, the arch specifically in my neck, is a bit more protruded than it should be. So, a few nerves are being pinched.
As a result, he did some adjusting (think snapping your neck to the right and left). He also applied cold therapy with electronic stimuli. I'm not sure I'm sold on the benefits of popping gas out of my neck (the "realignment"), but we'll see. I'll give it two weeks and reassess.
Beaty and the Beat
YouTube and the internet have given birth to some very creative people. Check out Beauty and the Beat. A Disney classic gets re-imagined.
See Ya!
I went to the dentist yesterday for a cleaning. Unfortunately, I found out I had a small cavity in one of my upper wisdom teeth. And because the tooth already had a filling, the dentist recommended either covering it with a crown or pulling it. So, I declared, "Yank it!" And they did - 15 minutes later. So I've been living on a liquid diet for 24 hours. All of which means I'll be nice and slim for this weekend's 4th of July festivities.
Men of Chicago Pride 2012
Well, it's actually "Man of Chicago Pride 2012," at least in this post, because I didn't take too many photos. The iPhone just sucks for snapshots. However, this street team member had my friends and I salivating Saturday afternoon. If only could see more of his assets - including those enjoyed from behind. Amazing.
Eating Off Joe
Joe Manganiello seems like a good sport with quite the personality. Check out the clip below from "Talk Soup." Even with that "belly," I'd like it.
Jesse Metcalf Half Naked
Sure, Jesse Metcalf is hot - especially standing in his undies on the new "Dallas" (see below). But I just can't force myself to watch the reincarnation as well as consider myself a fan of Jesse's beyond his good looks. His douche bag behavior while on "Desperate Housewives" just continues to linger.
Breaking Down the Numbers
Ever wonder how a video goes viral? Take the A & F "Call Me Maybe" for example. It's almost reached 3MM views. As of today, it's racked up the following:
748,524 Facebook shares
201 blog posts
Discovered 13 Jun 2012
5,734 comments
All of which exemplifies the power of FB and the discussion between friends (and apparent lack of inclusion on blogs).
Carly and the A & F Boys
Carly Rae Jepsen's Call Me Maybe continues to take over America and the world. Not only does the song now sit atop the Hot 100, but Abercrombie & Fitch put their half naked models to good use with a video parody that has them running around half naked. With over 2 million hits, I'm sure the company has just discovered a new marketing tool. Check out the video below.
Conan Goes 2 Wiener
If you've never been to Chicago Wiener's Circle, you're in for a treat. Conan, while filming his show in the Windy City, visited the famous hot dog stand where they yell at you. Check it out below.
Introducing Bren Foster (Again)
There's a new hottie in town on Melissa and Joey and his name is Bren Foster (who I just realized I featured on PTT back on December 28th). The Australian born actor plays Jules. Unfortunately, I think he's only around for a few episodes. So if you're watching like I am, enjoy him while you can (and apparently I enjoy him a lot as he's found his way back onto PTT without even knowing the connection).
Tweeting
Today I Tweeted. I was one of the first to sign-up back in 2007, but I haven't really used Twitter since. But because I was hoping to grab the attention of a job lead, I sent him a note via the social networking service. Have I received one back? No. But hopefully I'll peak his interest enough for him to check out my website. Fingers crossed.
Carrie Underwood Supports Gay Marriage
Carrie Underwood recently revealed her thoughts towards gay marriage. Thank you Carrie for supporting our cause.
"As a married person myself, I don't know what it's like to be told I can't marry somebody I love, and want to marry," she said. "I can't imagine how that must feel. I definitely think we should all have the right to love, and love publicly, the people that we want to love. Our church is gay friendly. Above all, God wanted us to love others. It's not about setting rules, or [saying] 'everyone has to be like me'. No. We're all different. That's what makes us special. We have to love each other and get on with each other. It's not up to me to judge anybody."
Inspirational
Robin Roberts ANNOUNCED this morning on Good Morning America that she has a bone marrow disease resulting from her fight with breast cancer. I don't know her, and barely watch the show, but her words made me tear up. She's a brave woman. Here's to hoping she swiftly wins her battle.
Going Gay in Spain
If the guy on the far right was waiting for me at SITGES for their Gay Pride event in July, I'd book a ticket yesterday.
Real Classy
It's unfortunate that the only true gay bar in downtown Chicago is the old Gentry (now called, of all names, Downtown). Even more sad is a small, wooden table the bouncer uses as a stand to house her Pringles, lotion and bottled water. When you top it off with a milk crate that doubles as a foot rest, you have yourself one classy bar.
New Lutty Mix!
Just in time for weekend activities and Pride later this month, a new non-stop MIX featuring "comeback" Rauhofer remixes of Rihanna and Scissor Sisters (super hot) along with new The Wanted, Katy Perry, Ne-Yo, Cheryl Cole, Gossip, Nelly Furtado and Selena! One of the best yet so enjoy the ride! For a complete set list, just shoot me an email! Grab it HERE.
Oprah's Next Chapter w/ Neil and David
Oprah's Next Chapter tonight featured an up close and personal interview with Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka. So many pieces to their story ring true. And though they don't want to be role models, I am thankful Neil and David display so many wonderful qualities - many some Americans chose not to see in a gay couple.
Sad Indeed
I find it sad when someone uses Facebook to promote their insecurities by not only touting their "fancy" whereabouts but when they make reference to a compliment they received only in hopes of others commenting on the self promoting post. Case in point:
"...not going to lie, hearing a new acquaintance tell me I'm gorgeous last night was exactly what this dateless single guy needed to hear :)"
I guess it's clear some are in need of constant validation.
